North Buffalo Fire Closure Area Amended for Public Access

The closure area for the North Buffalo fire has been amended for public access. A portion of the North Buffalo trail is now open. The Soda Fork Trail (FS 6051) remains closed. Also closed is that portion of the North Buffalo Fork Trail (FS 6047) beginning at the junction with Trail Creek (FS 6048) and continuing easterly to its terminus on the Continental Divide. The North Buffalo Fork Trail (FS 6047) from its beginning up to the Trail Creek junction shall be open for public use. Visitors are reminded to use caution when in any fire area, be familiar with the expected weather conditions and current fire behavior. Winds can suddenly fall dead trees and snags, open flames and smoke may reduce visibility. As with any outdoor adventure, be prepared and know before you go.
