Elevation Mountain Fire
Narrative: Yesterday's burnout operations wentwell helping to secure the southern and eastern flanks of the fier. Crews worked into the evening to hold the line and contain the burnout. Afternoon winds resulted in a 5 acre spot fire on the northeastcornoer of the fire. A dozer and hand crews worked to line the spot. Spotting also occurred along the east edge of the fire. Today crews will continue to secure the west, south and east flanks of the fire. Crews and dozers will work on the unsecured portion of the northwest corner of the fire. The Your Name Creek Fire will be monitored today.
Current Size: 885 acres, increase in size due to burn out operations.
Containment: 35%

Cause: Lightning
Resources on Fire: Six crews, seven engines, four helicopters, two dozers, two feller bunchers, and eight water tenders.
Special Events: An area closure is in place for the area surrounding the Elevation Mountain Fire (Township 13 North, Range 13 West, Sections 13-16 and 19-36). The closure order and map can be accessed by visiting the Elevation Mountain Fire site at Inciweb.org.
Be aware of increased fire traffic on the Bear Gulch, Rattler Gulch, and Elk Creek Roads and use caution if on these roads. Traffic will be especially heavy in the mornings and evenings as firefighters are travelling between the fire and fire camp.
