Covelo, CA - The North Pass Fire has been holding steadily at 41,983 acres. Containment remains at 97%. Portions of the Yolla Bolly Middle Eel Wilderness that were once in the fire closure area are now open. FH7 and M4 are open.
To access the Soldier Ridge area and northern portions of the Yolla Bolly Middle Eel Wilderness areas, visitors should take M2 from Paskenta west to M21 intersection (south of the Green Springs campground) to the M1 north. M1 towards Espee Ridge is also accessible.

The fire area remains closed due to unsafe hazards such as burning stump holes and falling trees. This closure may remain in effect for an extended period of time until all hazards can be mitigated.
