Incident: North Pass Wildfire
Released: 9/13/2012

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

Covelo, CA - The North Pass Fire remains at 41,983 acres. Containment remains at 97%.

FH7 (Mendocino Pass Road) is now open, all other forest roads within the fire closure area including M1, M2, M4, M21 and Blands Cove Road (24N21) remain closed due to the ongoing suppression repair work that firefighters are now doing. The current forest order can be found on the Mendocino National Forest webpage at (http://www.fs.usda.gov/mendocino) under "Alerts and Warnings".

The fire area remains closed due to unsafe hazards such as burning stump holes and falling trees. This closure may remain in effect for an extended period of time until all hazards can be mitigated.

Management of the North Pass fire has transitioned to the Arizona All Hazard Incident Management Team. The Base Camp and the Incident Command Post (ICP) is now co-located at the Round Valley Airport.
