Forest Supervisor's Order
Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests
Pursuant to Title 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 261.50(b) the following acts are prohibited on portions of the Moose Creek Ranger District, as described in this order and shown on the attached map, within the Nez Perce National Forest. These restrictions are in addition to those general prohibitions in Title 36 CFR, Part 261, Subpart A, become effective immediately and shall remain in effect until rescinded.
•1. Being on a trail. 36 CFR261.55(a)
The Vista Fire trail closure is described as follows:
Big Rock Trail 693: From the junction of Selway River Trail 4 (SW1/4SW1/4, Section 11, T32N, R12E, Boise Meridian.) to the junction of Halfway Creek Trail 447 (SW1/4NE1/4, Section 20, T33N, R12E, BM).
Shissler Peak Trail 450: From the junction with Big Rock Trail 693 (SE1/4SE1/4, Section 34, T33N,R12E, Boise Meridian) to Shissler Peak Lookout (SE1/4SE1/4, Section 27,T33N,R12E, Boise Meridian).
Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt:
•1. Persons with specific written authorization for the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
•2. Any Federal, State or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
•3. Federal or State administrative personnel in the performance of an official duty.

RATIONALE: These restrictions are promulgated to provide for public safety during periods of active fire in the Vista Fire area.
PENALTY: Violation of this order is prohibited by provisions of the regulations cited, and under USC 551 and 18 USC 3559 and 3571. Any violation is subject to punishment by a fine of not more than $5000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.
NOTIFICATION: A copy of this order shall be posted in the Forest Supervisor's Office and each District Ranger's office and other appropriate locations as prescribed under Title 36 CFR 261.51.
