ROGUE RIVER-SISKIYOU NATIONAL FOREST

ORDER No. RSF-190

Pursuant to Title 36 CFR Part 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited within the boundaries of the Siskiyou Mountains Ranger District as described in this order and attached map - Exhibit A, until October 30, 2012, unless sooner rescinded. The purpose of these restrictions is to provide for public health and safety due to a large wildfire in the area.

1) Going into or being upon any area, road or trail described below. 36CFR 261.53(e)

a. Area west of and including Forest Service Road (FSR) 1050 beginning at the Oregon/California state border T.41S, R.4W, Section 15, Willamette Meridian, continuing south to the junction of FSR 1055, and continuing south on FSR 1055 to its end at T.18N, R.11W, Section 8, Mt. Diablo Meridian.

b. Area north and west of, and including FSR 1055, T.18N, R.11W, Section 8, Mt. Diablo Meridian , continuing west along the Rogue River-Siskiyou and Klamath National Forest boundaries at the southern border of the Red Buttes Wilderness, to Sucker Creek Gap, T.41S, R.5W, Section 18, Willamette Meridian.

c. Area north and east from Sucker Creek Gap along the northern border of the Red Buttes Wilderness, to the Fir Glade Trail 955, continuing north and east to FSR 1040-800, T.41S, R.5W, Section 15, Willamette Meridian.

d. Area north and east of FSR 1030 and 1030-800 junction continuing northeast along FSR 1030-700 and FSR 1035-350 to the junction with FSR 1035, T.41S, R.5W, Section 12, Willamette Meridian.

e. Area east and south of and including FSR 1035 at the 1035-350 junction to the junction of FSR 1040, continuing along and including FSR 1040, area east and south to the Oregon/California state border at the junction of FSR 1050, T.41S, R.4W, Section 15, Willamette Meridian.

Pursuant to Title 36 CFR Part 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

  1. Persons with a permit authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
  2. Any Federal, State or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the

performance of an official duty.

These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in Title 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.

Violations of these prohibitions are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or both. (16 U.S.C. 551 and 18 U.S.C. 3559 and 3571).
