Incident: Mustang Complex Wildfire

Today at 6:00 p.m., the Southwest Area Type 1 Incident Management Team (Sciacca, Incident Commander) will transfer command of the Mustang Complex to the Type 2 Great Basin Incident Management Team (Team #3, Whalen, Incident Commander). The Incident Command Post will remain in North Fork, ID.
Idaho: Minimal fire activity was observed yesterday. Today's focus will continue on mopping-up, patrolling, and rehab work. Firefighters will be looking for locations to take action on the northeast corner of the fire near Allan Mountain. Line construction efforts will continue in the Rifle Peak area and rehab along Granite Peak.
We did receive light rain yesterday. Today's forecast will be cloudy with light rain again. Tomorrow's expected weather includes a cold front with gusty winds and cool, drier conditions.
The removal of hose, pumps, and other equipment from the fireline along the Salmon River Road and Highway 93 corridor is complete. Rehab of fireline continues including repair of dozer lines and chipping of vegetation that was cut to create a fire break. We have recovered 415 pumps and 7 miles (37,000 feet) of hose that was used during fire suppression efforts.
The 35 mph speed limit is now being enforced only within a mile span of the fire Incident Command Post area along Highway 93.
Montana: Yesterday a helicopter flight over the northern portion of the fire showed no active fire behavior. Crews focused on backhauling excess equipment. All equipment has now been removed from the Gattin Ranch area. In Montana, firefighters checked the Johnson Creek area for hot spots and removed hoses and pumps from a bulldozer line. Hoses and pumps still remain around the structures in this area as well as in Hughes Creek.
Today, crews will patrol the fire and continue retrieving excess equipment and reinforce firelines using a bulldozer between the Chrandal Fire, which burned in July this year and the Saddle Complex, which burned last year.
