Mustang Complex Announcement

Evacuation Update 9/20/12, 12:00 PM

Incident: Mustang Complex Wildfire
Released: 9/20/2012

Evacuation Update

Lemhi County Sheriff, Lynn Bowerman, has announced a change in evacuation orders. All of the following locations changed from a Level 2 to a Level 1 evacuation as of 12 noon today, September 20, 2012. As a precaution, persons with special needs as well as residents with mobile property and (under certain circumstances) pets and livestock, are further warned against reoccupying the evacuation area.

The Highway 93 corridor from Quartz Creek (mile post 339.6) to mile post 345.5 remains at a Level 1 evacuation.

Anyone traveling through these areas is advised to drive with headlights on and reduce their speed due to increased fire traffic from backhauling operations and smoky conditions.

Closure Update:

All current forest closures within the Mustang Complex will remain in effect over the upcoming weekend. Forest officials will reevaluate the need for these closures on Monday, September 24th and make a determination whether or not to keep the closures in place.
