Change in Evacuation Orders 9/17/12

Lemhi County Sheriff, Lynn Bowerman, has announced a change in evacuation orders for residents in Sage Creek and for residents along the Highway 93 corridor from North Fork (mile post 326.5) to Quartz Creek (mile post 339.6), just north of Gibbonsville, Idaho including the Ditch Creek, Hughes Creek and Hull Creek areas. The evacuation level for all areas has been reduced from Level 3 to Level 2, effective at 6:00 am Monday, September 17.

Evacuation levels for other areas in Lemhi County remain unchanged:

o Level 2: Indian Creek

o Level 1: Highway 93 corridor from Quartz Creek (mile post 339.6) to mile post 345.5

Residents returning to their homes are warned that hazards may exist such as weakened trees, rolling and burning debris, and thicksmoke along roadways. Residents should be fully prepared to leave at a moment's notice if there is a change in fire conditions.

Travelers along Highway 93 should drive with headlights on and reduce their speed as fire personnel and equipment are working along the roadway.
