Progress Continues on Skibstad Fire

Firfefighters report good progress during night operations last night on the Skibstad Fire. The fire did not grow overnight, and efforts continued along the northwest edge, with structure protection as priority. Work to secure fire lines will continue today.

Mandatory evacuations ordered yesterday afternoon in Hermit Creek subdivision and Shane Creek remain in effect.

Cooler weather today with a slight chance of rain, but thunderstorms and lightning are forecast over the next couple of days.

The Skibstad Fire is 3213 acres, and 35% contained. Roughly 250 personnel are working on the fire.
