Current Situation: The Flat Fire is burning on U.S. Forest Service land on the Trinity River Management Unit of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest near the community of Del Loma. Tomorrow command of the fire will return to the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The fire has been burning along Highway 299 in the Del Loma area. Travelers on Highway 299 should be alert for the possibility of debris falling on the road. Use caution in the fire area as firefighters and equipment will still be working. The highway may be closed at times due to fire activity. Today firefighters fully contained this fire and will remain on the incident as needed to ensure complete control.
