Yesterday, the fire grew 254 acres in the bottom of Turkey Creek drainage on the south end of the fire. As per the plan to keep the fire north of the Gila River, smoke jumpers hiked into the area and safely engaged the fire where feasible.
Approximately 160 people attended the public meeting in Glenwood last night.
Aircraft will continue to patrol the fire area today. Firefighters will be holding the fire north of the Gila River and west of the old Miller fire burn area.
