Bull Flat Fire Final Update 9:00 PM May 20
Incident: Bull Flat Fire Wildfire
Fire Activity: Firefighters continue to patrol and monitor the perimeter of the Bull Flat Fire. Crews will also continue rehabilitation efforts on dozer lines and construct erosion control barriers to help stabilize the outside edges of the fire. Interior smokes may be visible from time to time, as interior islands burn off. Demobilization of excess personnel and equipment continues.
The Eastern Arizona Type-2 Incident Command Team transferred command of the fire to a local area Type-4 team tonight at 8 p.m. This will be the Final Update from the Eastern Arizona Team. Please call the Tonto National Forest Supervisor's Office at (602) 225-5220 for further inquiries on the fire.
The public is urged to remain vigilant about the weather conditions that can dramatically affect fire behavior. Hot + Dry + Windy + 1 spark = Big Fire. Any kind of spark or ember can ignite the vegetation you are in and that spark can spread dangerously fast.
