Incident: Bear Mountain Understory Burn Prescribed Fire

Bear Mountain Underburn concluded on Friday, May 18th. A total of 3 units were ignited and burned successfully with a total of 148 acres completed. Ignition began Wednesday, May 16th, approximately 1200 hours to mitigate any perception that smoke might impact community activities. Resource objectives were met and the burn was felt to be highly successful. Patrol 42, Darrell Serrano, and Public Information Officer Michelle Smith were assigned to interface with the public and provide updated daily information as the burn progressed. The Bear Mountain Underburn is in patrol and mop up status.
