Twin Fire Update - 9:00 P.M .

Williams, AZ - October 6, 2009. 8:30 p.m. The Twin Fire, located one mile southwest of the City of Williams is 60 percent contained and 921 acres. Today, helicopters dropped water on hot spots on the southeast side of the fire while firefighters reinforced containment lines around the perimeter. Tonight, firefighters and engines are assigned to patrol and monitor the fire.

Resources assigned to the Twin Fire include 2 helicopters, 5 Hot Shot Crews, 4 Hand Crews, 23 engines, 2 dozers and 4 water tenders.

Wednesday's forecast calls for cloudy skies, a slight chance of rain showers, increased humidity and decreased temperatures.

Closures associated with the fire include Bill Williams Mountain and Kaibab Lake Recreation Area.
