Fire managers on the Espanola Ranger District have started ignitions in the Santa Fe Watershed.

Today, fire managers will continue with hand and aerial ignitions. This afternoon fire managers will continue to blackline the southeast perimeter of the project area. Later this afternoon, aerial ignitions (helicopter) will begin in the north part of the project area. Today's burning activities include burning a larger area; therefore, more smoke is expected.

Smoke from the burn will be very visible from the City of Santa Fe, Tesuque, from I-25, and to the east toward Glorieta and Pecos.
