Santa Fe Watershed Prescribed Burn News Release

Santa Fe Watershed Prescribed Burn Afternoon Update 09/30/09

Incident: Santa Fe Watershed Prescribed Burn Prescribed Fire
Released: 9/30/2009

Fire managers on the Espanola Ranger District did NOT continue with the prescribed burn in the SF Watershed today because of weather (predicted winds and changes in humidity level).

There's a possibility that they could resume burning tomorrow depending on weather conditions. Burning conditions will be evaluated tomorrow, on site, and a decision to continue with the burn will be made then.

Fire personnel patrolled and monitored the Watershed burn today. Smoke will continue to be visible through tonight and will settle into drainage areas; however will lift by mid-morning when the sun rises. Smoke will be visible from the Santa Fe side and also the Pecos and Pecos Canyon side of the mountain.
