Cactus Fire 100% Contained - July 23, 2008

Incident: Cactus Wildfire
Released: 7/23/2008

Fire officials declared the Cactus Fire 100% contained this evening. Firefighters continued their search for hot spots throughout the day, mopping up and further securing containment lines. Interior pockets of fuel may continue to burn, producing some smoke. Firefighters will continue to patrol the fire area.

All road and trail closures associated with the fire have been lifted.

Demobilization of excess resources no longer needed continues, and Rick Kusicko's Northern Rockies Type 2 Incident Management Team will transfer command of the fire back to the local unit tomorrow.

Fire officials have determined that lightning caused the 518-acre fire, reported on July 19th.
