New Stage I Evacuation Notice Issued On Rombo Mountain Fire

On Sunday afternoon, August 19, 2007, the Ravalli County Sheriff issued a Stage I Evacuation Notice for persons residing between Warm Springs Creek and Conner, west of Highway 93. A cold frontal passage is occurring with strong, gusty south-westerly and westerly winds pushing the fire to the east and northeast. A Red Flag Warning is currently in effect.

A Stage I is defined as an Alert & Warning: There is a high probability of the need to evacuate. Law enforcement personnel/representatives will attempt to make personal visits to each residence and business in the threatened area. Residents are responsible to make arrangements to move property and livestock. Some residents, primarily those with special health needs or other concerns, should relocate during this stage of evacuation.
