A northern portion of the Jocko Lakes fire area reopened to public use Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007. Deer Creek, Lake Elsina and Mount Henry portions of the Seeley Lake Ranger District have reopened. Vaughn Creek Road to Spook Lake has reopened, as have certain lands west of Placid Lake, including Hidden Lake. Big Lake, Riverpoint and Seeley Lake Campgrounds are open.
Generally, National Forest and private lands west of Hidden Lake and south of the Lake Elsina/Fawn Creek Road remain closed. The Jocko Lakes Road to Arlee, the Boles-Finley Road, and the areas accessed by these roads remain closed until further notice because of fire-related hazardous conditions.
