- August 12, 2007 8:00 p.m. MT - Information about Skyland Fire is being shared in a variety of ways: daily fire updates are emailed and posted to the internet, telephone lines are staffed, community meetings are held and information officers work with print, radio and television media. Information officers also go into local communities to share information about the fire. They post bulletin boards and spend time talking about the incident with business owners, residents and tourists.
On August 11, 2007 Skyland Fire Information Officers provided fire information at the 16th Annual Heart Butte Society Celebration. The PowWow drew dancers from Montana, Canada, New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho and Wyoming. To the right, under "Related Article Links" are some photographs taken at the celebration.
