Evacuations Remain in Effect

Incident: Sawmill Complex Wildland Fire

The Granite County Sheriff's Office issued a mandatory evacuation order for residents in the Williams Gulch and Wild Rose Loop near the Wyman 2 fire on the afternoon of August 3. For more information, contact the Granite County Sheriff's at 859-3251.

Evacuations were also ordered for a portion of the Sawmill fire on the afternoon of August 3. The Granite County Sheriff's Office issued a mandatory evacuation order for residents living on Rock Creek Road between Norton Campground to one-half mile south of Brewster Creek. Additional area was added to this evacuation on August 4 with an extension to the south in the Bear Cr area. The Missoula County Sheriff's Office is assisting in the evacuations. Those residents affected by these evacuations will be allowed to re-enter the area during the morning hours to retrieve items and check their property as long as this is possible with the fire situation. Personnel at the road closures will have instructions concerning the time when residents will need to be back out of the area.
