Forest Supervisor's Order
Rocky Mountain Ranger District Fire Closure Area
Pursuant to Title 36 Code of Federal Regulation 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited as described below, within the Rocky Mountain Ranger District on the Lewis and Clark National Forest. This temporary restriction is in addition to those enumerated in Subpart A, Part 261, Title 36, Code of Federal Regulations, and become effective at 12:01 a.m. Mountain Daylight Standard Time on Thursday, August 2, 2007 when signed, and remain in effect until rescinded.
36 CFR 261.53 - Special Closures:
It is prohibited to go into or be upon any area which is closed for the protection of "Public Health or Safety" (Title 36 CFR 261.53(e)).
Area Closure: From Highway 2 at the Continental Divide (adjacent to Flathead National Forest Closure in Section 31), South along the Forest Boundary to Observation Point, east along the watershed divide between Green Fork Creek and the South Fork Sun River, across the ridge top of Cigarette Rock, along and including trail #247 to its junction with trail #212, along but not including trail #212 to its junction with trail #232, east following along but not including trail #232 to it's junction with trail #244, east along but not including the portion of trail #244 in section 24 to the Forest boundary; North along the Forest boundary to Highway 2 and along Highway 2 to the Continental Divide.
This order rescinds Special Orders LC-07 D1 06 and LC-07 D1 13.
It is prohibited to be on any National Forest System Trail or within the boundaries of the Fire Area Closure as described and defined on the attached map. For the purpose of this order, the public safety issue involves the fires in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex and Lewis and Clark National Forest.

Exemptions:
Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following are exempt from this restriction:
1. Any person with a written permit authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
·2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the
performance of an official duty.

Penalty:
Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both (16 USC 551 and 18 USC 3559 and 3571).
Notification:
A copy of this order shall be posted as prescribed under 36 CFR 261.51.
