KLAMATH NATIONAL FOREST

EMERGENCY CLOSURE

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b), and to protect public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the Klamath National Forest. Areas. Roads and areas affected by this order are shown on Exhibit A. This order is effective from July 14th, 2007, until the wildfires in the area are fully suppressed.

·1. Being upon Road No. 46N13Y (8J001) from its intersection with Highway 96 in the SW ¼ of Sec. 13, T. 46 N., R. 7 W., Mt. Diablo Meridian (MDM), to its intersection with Road No. 46N30 (7J001) in the NE ¼ of Section 13, T. 46 N., R. 9 W., MDM.

·2. Being upon Road No. 46N52Y (8J002) from its intersection with Road No. 46N13Y (8J001) in the SE ¼ of Sec. 16, T. 46 N., R. 7 W., MDM, to its intersection with Road No. 45N30 (7J001) in the SW ¼ of Sec. 1, T. 45 N., R. 8 W., MDM.

·3. Entering onto or being upon the area described as follows:

The area south of and following Road No. 46N13Y west from its intersection with Road No. 46N52Y (Humbug Road) in the SE ¼ of Sec. 16, T. 46 N., R. 7 W., MDM, to its intersection with Road No. 45N30 (Little Humbug Road) in the NE ¼ of Section 13, T. 46 N., R. 9 W. MDM; the area east of and following Road No. 45N30 to its intersection with Road No. 46N52Y in the SE ¼ of Section 3, T. 45 N., R. 8 W. MDM; the area north of and following Road No.46N52Y to its intersection with Road 46N13Y at the mouth of Humbug Creek in the SE ¼ of Section 16, T. 46 N., R 7 W, MDM.

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order.

·1. Persons with a permit from the Forest Service specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.

·2. Owners or lessees of land within the closure area, to the extent necessary to gain access to their land.

·3. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.

A violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.
