Campground closed by Madison Arm Fire reopened

Residents and Resort Guests To Be Provided Escorted Access

West Yellowstone, MT - The Baker's Hole Campground on the Gallatin National Forest near West Yellowstone is now open to campers.

In addition, the residents of the four homes east of U.S. Highway 191 near the campground have been allowed to return to their homes.

Guests of the Madison Arm Resort and Lakeshore area residents who were evacuated will be allowed to temporarily enter the closed area under escort for a two hour period to check on their property and retrieve personal items. Those wishing to participate are to meet Gallatin County Sheriff's deputies at the junction of U.S. Highway 20 and the Madison Arm Road at 9:00 am, Sunday, July 1, 2007. Residents and resort guests will be asked to show identification before being escorted into the area.
