GALLATIN NATIONAL FOREST
HEBGEN LAKE RANGER DISTRICT
AREA CLOSURE
All persons are prohibited from going into or being upon National Forest Service System Lands within the area described below and depicted in the attached map (Attachment A), Title 36 CFR 261.53(e). These restrictions supercede those in Order #07-11-07-06, are effective immediately, and will remain in effect until rescinded.
AREA: All National Forest System Lands within the following area: beginning at the junction of U.S. Highway 191 and U.S. Highway 20, northerly along the western edge of the U.S. Highway 191 right-of-way to the junction with the Rainbow Point Road #6954, then northwesterly along the southwestern edge of the Rainbow Point Road #6954 right-of-way to the Forest Service-private land boundary in the northeastern corner of section 25, then along the Forest Service-private land boundary to the south, west, and north to the shore of Hebgen Lake, then following the shoreline of Hebgen Lake to the north, west, and south to Edwards Peninsula, then across Hebgen Lake in a southerly direction to Stoddard's Point, then south along the east shoreline of the South Fork Arm and the east bank of the South Fork of the Madison River to its crossing of U.S. Highway 20, then east along the northern edge of the U.S. Highway 20 right-of-way to the point of beginning.
The reason for the closure is to provide for public safety due to wildfires in the area.
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(c), the following persons are exempt from this order:
·1. Persons with a permit issued by a Forest Officer specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
2. Any Federal, State or local officer, or member of an organized rescue orfirefighting force in performance of an official duty.
