The Pipeline fire began September 19 2013 as a lightning strike. It started near an Entergy Natural Gas Pipeline which prevented firefighters from going direct attack initially. Currently the fire is being managed to address issues with firefighter exposure and safety. There are no expected impacts expected on cultural and natural resources. The impact from smoke is expected to be minimal and will be monitored on a daily basis.

A small pocket of unburned fuels between two burned areas next to the contaiment lines was hand-ignited. FEMO continues to monitor plots.
