Summary: The lightning caused Kelly Fire is 45 acres and is located on steep terrain in beetle infested lodgepole pine. Kelly Creek is a tributary to Pettengill Creek. Pioneer Mountains Scenic Byway and private lands are located.
The fire is 100% contained and put in patrol status. With all of the lightning and erratic winds of the past several days, with very little moisture, officials are advising people to be cautious with fire when recreating outdoors and to be sure and report any fires that they might see while out in our national forest lands. Please make sure your fire is completely out. Stay on designated roads and trails with your vehicles, and extinguish cigarettes completely.
