The Alleghany Fire is now 100 percent contained and remains in patrol status. The fire started as the result of downed power lines in the Tahoe National Forest near Alaska Peak, an area of steep terrain, brush, and timber.
The closest communities to the fire were Pike and Camptonville. No homes or structures were threatened.
