Three crews, seven engines and two water tenders continue to mop up the Brimstone Fire, which received good rainfall over the past weekend. No control problems have been reported.

The fire is burning in mixed-age hardwood and conifer stands, logging slash and brush.
Smoldering and creeping through large fuels, stumps and roots.
The fire was turned over to an Oregon Dept. of Forestry Type 3 incident management team on Aug. 5.
Efforts will focus on mopping up, holding existing line and mopping up all hot spots 300 feet inside the fire line.
