Currently, the Moose Meadow fire is 87% contained and one 20 person firefighting crew and misc. overhead continue to patrol the perimeter and mop up hotspots within the interior of the fire. Smoke will continue to be visible from the interior of the fire until the weather changes significantly.
Previous closures have been rescinded and a new closure order for Trail #8020 which traverses along Whetstone Ridge and travels through the fire area has been implemented. Forest visitors should plan to take alternate routes to avoid this area
