The Red Rock Fire started on July 1 at 1:34 p.m., in Lassen County, California, 45-miles northwest of Reno on the east side of U.S. Highway 395 on Seven Lakes Mountain. The fire quickly burned across the state line and the majority of the burn area is on the Nevada side of the incident. The cause is under investigation.
Paul Washam's Sierra Front Type III Team has completed their assignment and has returned the incident to the BLM-Carson City District. Remaining crews are concentrating on mopping up hotspots within the fire perimeter and rehabilitating dozer lines.
No major injuries have been reported.
The fire is now 100-percent contained. Full control of the burn is anticipated by Monday, July 8 at 6:00 p.m.This will be the FINAL Update to be posted on this Inciweb page.
