Heavy timber transitions to dense brush
Active fire behavior early with torching and spotting early in the operational period. Some areas of active backing into the wind are problematic due to location on the slope and alignment with slope and fuels as it backs into receptive.
Crews continue to prep and hold lines preparing for firing operations on the west flank of the fire. Resources continued indirect dozer line construction and prepared the trail system for firing operations as needed on the northern perimeter. On the northeastern flank, crews continued to hold last night's burnout operations.
Crews will continue to build direct and indirect fireline and conduct firing operations when conditions are favorable. Aerial resources will continue to assist in cooling areas of the fire that are inaccessible and displaying active fire behavior. Structure protection will continue in the subdivisions on the north and east flanks.
