Incident Overview
On 02/16/2013 at 2000 hours, NATR Ridgeland Fire Crew was contacted by LE Ranger and requested his response to a reported wildland fire in the Ratliff Ferry area. At 2026 hours, Engine 670 was in service and responding. At 2045 hours, NATR Engine 670 met up with LE Ranger at the boat ramp at Ratliff Ferry. The fire was on the east side of the river from the boat ramp and appeared to be started by a fisherman. The fire was creeping out from origin and had already burning down to river. The fire had mostly burned itself out and not threating the Parkway or anything close by. No suppression actions were taken. Engines 670 checked the Parkway north and south of Milepost 123 and no further active fires were found. Engine 670 cleared the scene at 2140 hours.
