Incident Overview

At 11:32 A.M. September 27 the "Harris fire" was reported along Hwy 299 on Adin Pass, Soutwest of Canby CA. Fire resources from the Modoc National Forest along with cooperating resources from Cal Fire, local volunteer fire departments and the California Highway Patrol responded. The fire burned in a grass, pine, and juniper mix with numerous spot fires and a moderate fire behavior. Highway 299 was closed in both directions due to fire aircraft operations over the fire but was reopened to one lane controlled traffic and then fully reopened to traffic at 5:30 P.M.

The Harris fire is now 100% contained , fire resources will remain on the fire through out the night continuing supression efforts, working towards full control by midnight tonight.

Update...September 28, 2012 ~ 0800

Fire lines held through the night with only two smokes still showing this morning. Containment is at 100%, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
