Mistake Peak Fire, 12 miles east of Tonto Basin on the Tonto National Forest. The fire began August 8 and is estimated at 5,220 acres and is 100 percent contained. Transition of the fire from the managment of the Northern Arizona Type II Incident Management Team to the Tonto National Forest occured August 20.

Forest Road (FR)609 is closed from FR 416 to FR 486 so crews can remove hazard trees along the roadway. The Closure is expected to be in place till August 31, 2012
