Grass, brush, pinyon juniper, timber
running, torching, backing, spotting. The fire more than doubled in size on Tuesday, and remained active throughout the night with strong down canyon winds.
Firefighters conducted burnouts on the east flank of the fire to check the progression of the fire toward developed areas. A DC-10 very large airtanker made drops on the east and southwest flanks of the fire.
The fire is threatening primary sage grouse habitat.
