Incident Overview
As of August 15, the Salt Creek Fire has been declared "controlled" It will remain in patrol status. This means that regular visual surveillance is taking place. For a definition of "control" and other firefighting terms, please see the Glossary of Firefighting Terms
The fire is located on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest (Shasta Lake Ranger District) approximately 20 miles north of Redding along Interstate 5.
Work to repair any disturbances done to natural resources by the dozer and hand lines within the fire perimeter has been completed. A Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) team has completed initial assessments into area disturbance, and will continue in their plans for area rehabilitation over the coming weeks.
