Incident Overview

Meadowlark Road to Glendo SP is now open to the public.

During the evening and early morning residents may still see an increase of smoke.

The Type III Team will turn the incident over to a local Type IV Team Friday morning, July 20, 2012. Incident Commander Ron Graham, WSFD, assessed the area today and felt confident that the fire is nearly contained. "I would like to thank all involved, crews came in and attacked the fire in hot, dry conditions, coupled with an abundance of fuel in grass, brush and timber. The residents of Guernsey and Glendo along with Camp Guernsey staff accommodated all our needs and were a tremendous help to crews."

All campgrounds at Glendo State Park are open. The fire caused no damage to facilities at Glendo or Guernsey State Parks.
