Incident Overview
The Quail Fire is located on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, on the Pleasant Grove Ranger District, located 1 mile east of Alpine. It was reported at 2:43 pm on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. The Quail Fire is 2,222 acres and 100% contained.
Evacuations have been lifted in all areas except within the perimeter of the fire. The following areas remain closed: The peak of Box Elder Peak, trail 046, and portions of trail 044 in the fire area. Dry creek trail 043 is open.
The fire has been put into monitor status. An infrared fight showed very few hot spot remain in the interior of the fire. Residents can expect to possibly see smoke or isolated fire activity within the perimeter of the fire area. A Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) team is currently assessing damages to the natural resources and will begin rehab.
