Crews monitoring the Button Rock Fire designated fire status as "controlled" on June 5 and have been released for availability to support other incidents. Fire officials will check the Button Rock fire area periodically over the next week to confirm same status. This is the last planned update for this fire.

Lightning event 12:45 p.m. Crews standing down for safety. Storm clears immediate area 12:55 p.m. crews return to continue suppression activities. JUNE 5,2012--Crews monitoring the fire declared the fire "controlled". Crews have been released, but will be checking fire area periodically over the next week.

June 2, 2012 11:59 p.m. fire reaches 100% containment. June 3, 2012 10:00 a.m.crews working to suppress active fire and remove heat within containment lines. June 3, 2012 12:45 p.m.crews evacuating area temporarily for firefighter safety in response to lightning. June 3, 2012 12:55 p.m. crews re-engage in securing fire-line and mop-up activities. June 3, 2012 1:00 p.m. crews will continue to mop-up and secure fire-line.
