On Monday, March 5, ignitions were conducted in the burn area between Canal L67 and the Shark Valley visitor center. On Tuesday morning, March 6, some interior areas were still burning. However, due to high winds and low humidity, these areas were suppressed by the park's single-engine air tanker. No ignitions were conducted Tuesday. Park staff continue to monitor the burn area.
