Management of the Steep Creek Fire was transitioned to a Type IV organization on Sunday, July 26. The fire is a portion of the Steep Aspen Prescribed Fire that spread to the Escalante Ranger District of the Dixie National Forest on July 17. This prompted managers to declare this portion a wildland fire.
An emergency temporary road, trail and area closure in associated with the Steep Creek Fire is in affect until further notice. See the closure notice and map for more details.
