Harden Fire burning in the 1996 Ackerson Fire

The Harden Fire started June 8 by lightning and is approximately 1,661 acres. This acreage is 95 percent of the anticipated acreage that managers planned for the incident. The fire is located 13 miles north of Yosemite Valley, west of Harden Lake and within the 1996 Ackerson fire perimeter. Little growth is expected. The fire is a mop-up phase and some hot spots may persist within the established boundaries.

All trails into and out of Harden Lake and White Wolf are open (Harden lake to Smith Meadow; Harden Lake to Aspen Valley; and all trails to Pate Valley.)
