Summary

Rich Fire - The fire was 100% contained at 6:00 pm on Saturday August 9th. The Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) has been lifted. The closure has been reduced to the area within and including the fire perimeter. As of 06:00 8/17/08 the Rich Fire will be managed by a Type 3 Incident Management Team led by Randy Jennings and Tyler Otterson.

Fire Behavior

No spread. Fuels within interior islands continue to be consumed and occasional smoke columns may be visible.

Significant Events

Crews continue with rehab and mopup on the northeast side of the fire. The Rush Creek and Virgilia Roads are open only to residents. Caribou road and adjacent campgrounds on the north fork are open to public use. Preveous closures are lifted with exception of fire area within and including perimeter.

Planned Actions

Firefighters will continue patrol of the entire fire area. Suppression rehab is nearing completion. 75% of the fire is in patrol status only.
