This report will not be updated again unless conditions change significantly. Following is the initial update/summary of the Lone Oak fire from May 8, 2008.
Initial Summary: The Lone Oak Fire started in Buffalo Mountain City Park in Washington County Tennessee at approximately 11 AM May 7, 2008. The Fire is located on Buffalo Mountain in the Cherokee National Forest about 1 mile SW of Johnson City, TN. There are numerous structures in the general fire area with 8 residences, 1 commercial property and 1 outbuilding threatened. No structure losses have been reported.
